Renegades win ESL One Cologne 2020 Oceania to claim fifth title in a row

Christopher "⁠dexter⁠" Nong's team continues their local domination as they are crowned the chamions of ESL One Cologne 2020 Oceania after beating AVANT 3-0, completing their run in the tournament without dropping a single map.

"It's the exact same opponents again and again, so we just did what we did last time - and it worked." dexter said in a post-match interview when asked about his team adding another trophy to their cabinet in the pandemic era.

"We are always expecting change but it never really comes, at least not yet, so we are preparing ourselves, our mentalities, for overseas competitions" said the in-game leader who is set to join the HLTV Confirmed show on Monday to expand on his team's current situation.

Renegades march on to another victory in Oceania

In ESL One Cologne 2020 Oceania, Renegades were flawless, not dropping a single map as they defeated some of the region's best teams: Chiefs, ORDER, and finally AVANT in the grand final, which put the team on a win streak of eight series and 13 maps. Unsuprisingly, their players also topped rating leaderboards for the event as all five were in the top six, with Joshua "⁠INS⁠" Potter leading the way, boasting 1.39 rating.

This win marks Renegades' fifth consecutive tournament win since the coronavirus pandemic broke out (sixth if the Minor qualifier is included), as the team has previously won ESL One: Road to Rio - Oceania, ESL ANZ Championship S11, DreamHack Masters Spring - Oceania, and DreamHack Open Summer - Oceania.

Overall, they have lost just two of the 24 series played in the last six month, recording a 46W-13L map record since they returned home from IEM Katowice in February.
